AH HAH I FOUND YOU. [Sep. 12th, 2008|01:31 am]
I found my livejournal.

hahaha, I have one still. it's pretty funny.
So my friend dave is moving up to Seattle, pretty funny considering i was trying to get a job up there not too many years ago. But he did it, so god bless 'em. fuck, now i gotta try hard and make my concepts and game design BS work.

At the moment I'm either absolutely hating my job at the Hobby store, or enjoying it immensely, I can't stress enough how important community is. But you need a decent job to see it through.

It's a real pain in the ass when you're one of the few people out there who want to organize things. I'm speaking about the Game Masters, the Convention Runners, and Store Owners, people who put themselves forward for others so they can congregate and actually ENJOY the industry and world that they love.

Show some love for your GM. he's doing a job you don't want to :D

So, something i didnt expect.
I thought I'd post the mix and it'd get lost under the traffic.
Apparently someone dug the vibe.
Because its rated among the highest remixes there thus far.

http://remix.nin.com/

Right now under the Overall Highest Rated remixes... its number 8.
Fucking insane.
Wow.

So I attempted to go to a NOFX concert.
it was going to be amazing.
it was.

till someone decided that they wanted to lock their leg around me to pull me down.

At this point I punched said person. scuffle happens. guy gets dragged off.
me? I'm an emotional wreck at this point. See. some people when they get mad or angry
they handle it, they beat someone up, blahblahblah...

Me? The more angry I get. Its more like an uncontrollable sobbing. its the weirdest thing.
I probably shouldnt announce this to the world like so. but fuck it. You either get me or don't. And I figure half of you dont even read this anyway.. So! :D

So yeah I was half way passed out due to the stress of trying to stop the crowd from crushing me and amanda. And i was on such an adrenaline rush from the scuffle i just said fuck it and went home.

This has taught me one thing: I'm old. Older, I'm not built for the same shit when i was young. Time go somewhere else. i just want to watch the band play and enjoy the show... i guess i'm in the wrong era for that kind of thing.

LJ abuse is amusing, tells me my friends only posts (all .. what.. 3 of them?) have been posted somewhere, which is spam/virus infested. sooo.. thanks LJAbuse, you're useless. really, thanks.

But at any rate. back to working on music.

So a few things:

1.) Dave Gahan's HourGlass CD = As fantastic as anything Depeche Mode has done.
At times more atmospheric and definitely grittier in many aspects. Good shit.

2.) Serj's new album. Its fun. :D

3.) Painting an entire Tomb King's army in one week. That's right bitches. One week. Its awesome. I enjoy these crash course painting competitions i have with myself seeing if i can top whatever ridiculous things i've done before. before it was a Wood Elf army in about a week and a half.

I need more kurosawa in my life.

Also, getting more hours at the Store. making more money. Life is consumed there a bit, but I enjoy myself for the most part, though the new responsibilities have brought it in line with more of a "job" than before. Hooray for upkeep etc.

Never thought I'd do something so silly.. but... [Oct. 20th, 2007|04:54 am]
If you comment on this post, I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

apologetics: This was when I was big on being Christian. It means to have an answer for every question. It was also a time when i was trying to rationalize and pragmatically answer any tough questions i had about religion. once resolved, i moved on.

being dead: I think this had something to do with Irony. this perhaps was a lyrical reference. but is from a bygone era when i was actually into goth culture and perhaps even gave a shit what happened. This was of course, before I became disillusioned/jaded/bored with the cliche tripe that the subculture has become, or even was.

clanging pipes: Grew up right next to factories/warehouses. Have always loved the sound of various machines and their kin. Hence my love for industrial music.

high fidelity: Epic movie. Really hit home since i had a very torrid affair with making Mix-Tapes for everyone. can still make the most bitchin' mix tapes/cds ever.

kahil gibran: The Prophet is perhaps one of the more brilliant things ever written. Very poetic. Very concise.

mike patton: Greatest vocalist ever. Seriously. His range, his interests in music variation and eclectic patterns. I can't think of many if any other vocalists who come close to touching the amount of range and talent this man has.

spoken word: The less rhythmic brother of Rap. Also very amusing, and often touching. Henry Rollins and Andrew Schwabb are two big favorites of mine.

There's something nice once you get out from under the proverbial rock of an Ex.
The concept of saying "ok thanks for fucking me over, fuck you too." and then moving on.
Acceptance is fun. Accepting that the other person whom you held in high regard is really nothing more than a superficial tard-baby is a nice shift in vision.

We aren't burning bridges.
We're atomizing them.
Cause apparently that's what was wanted. :)

Across the Universe has a rather.. good soundtrack.
Of course im talking the two disc one, not the one disc nutjob version thats all truncated and boring.

I know the movie cant possibly have all these songs
There'd be absolutely no time for exposition.

Ah well , back to working.

So while browsing the ... i can't think of a proper term for it.. but I'll settle with "vast vacuum" that is YouTube i found some stupid gameplay video. The video itself in this story is irrelevant. However, the music contained within its tiny frame was, for lack again of a better adjective, good shit.

Infected Mushroom.

Its been told to me that its sort of Trance GOA. I'm not entirely sure what that entails, but to me its just good electronic music that goes all over the place, from harder industrial-ish sounds to just good electronic dance. Good shit.

Seriously.

Also, WHY MUST NEW ORLEANS BE SOLD OUT OF DETHKLOKS ALBUM :(

I need to echo what my friend Dennis said on his journal.
I'm not even half way through the album and this is one of the best metal albums ever.

Seriously. its fun and awesome. Something i didnt think a death metal album could ever be. _fun_
and hardcore and brutal.

I'm definitely getting this when it comes out.

1.) Go see Stardust.

Really fantastic, and i felt like a kid again watching The Last Unicorn. Just fun.

2.) Having an Ex you like sucks. a lot.

3.) Gen-Con in a few hours, as i take a plane to Indy to hopefully drop off my Resume and it gets read by people. Hopefully they'll take me in.. Argh, i like the company enough.

4.) Still need to register for a single class or so and get it out the way, this whole Gen-Con has been a hiccup in my intentions. With it out the way and a clear path ahead it should be interesting.

5.) Finally done with FedEx, i hate working there, utter misery waking up at 5am, working for two and a half hours , coming home , going back at 7pm and working till 9:30pm or so and repeating five times a week. Great Benefits and that's where it ends.

See you all in a week.
